People have always been interested in weird stuff, but starting in the Renaissance they really made a big deal about it. That's when Cabinets of Curiosities became the new cool thing. They were entire rooms full of collections that could include almost anything, like scientific specimens, relics of the odd, rare antiquities, and other strange items. These collections showed off their curators' interests much like a really ancient version of Pinterest although with a lot more skeletons and preserved bugs. These socks offer just a tiny window into this old tradition, with a variety of oddities that would fit into any such collection.
