You can't feel the toe seam, they are made with a super comfy combed cotton/nylon/spandex blend, we've added double terry in the heel and toe, and they are sewn to the same design specifications as our normal FootClothes even though the designs are simpler.

After a lot of rounds of sampling wide calf socks, we finally landed on something we're comfortable with, but we're testing with these two to see how they do and get feedback. We'll expand into more popular colors once we know that they are loved.

Wide calf is super tricky. After spending over $1000 on attempted wide calf samples (over 15” circumference calf), I can safely say that the issue is not as simple as “add more spandex” or “make the top bigger” - because our normal design socks are super detailed, we’re limited by the tight density and the stretch of nylon used to make the designs at that density (200N). There's simply a limit to how much it can stretch in any scenario.

In order to successfully make wide calf designs, they have to be much more simplistic - large blocks of color or stripes, but we are continuing to test to see what else will work.

We (nor anyone else) will ever be able to offer actual wide calf crews in our style of non-athletic socks and with out level of details. That is because where a crew sock lands is the slantiest part of the calf (scientific term), if we make the top bigger or looser, it will roll down. But it's otherwise too tight. We've tried every setting.

One Size Fits Most Humans Size 6-13, the regular styles may be snug on wider calves however, they will stretch a bit more than our other designs.

The wide calf styles are designed for legs 15" - 23" around.
